Design Lab

The goal of the design lab was to develop specific proposals for changing doctoral programs in the humanities. In groups, the participants worked on three questions: 

1. What would count as success for a redesigned PhD program?
2. What types of knowledge and abilities should the students of such a program acquire? What experiences should they have?
3. In order to help students to facilitate those experiences and acquire those abilities and knowledge, which elements of traditional PhD programs should be kept, what should be eliminated, and what should be added?
